Moreover, even if you successfully hide followers on Instagram, the number of followers and followings will be visible to your audiences whenever they view your profile. 

Besides these, you won’t find an option on the Instagram app for hiding followers and have to resort to different methods.

1. Switch To A Private Account

The best method to hide your followers on Instagram is switching to a private account if you have a public account. 

As I have said earlier, if you have a public account you cannot hide the followers list from others and anyone can view your followers and followings. 

However, in the case of a private account, only your followers and the people you follow on Instagram can view your followers and followings. 

The difference is that you can control and track the audience of your followers and followings in a private account, whereas in a public account, you cannot. 

So, switch to a private account to better protect your account information.

Follow the steps to switch to a private account. 

• Open your Instagram app.
• Tap on the Profile icon at the bottom right corner of your feed page.

• Tap the Hamburger icon at the top right corner of your profile page. 

• Select “Settings and privacy“.

• Scroll and tap “Account privacy“.

• Tap “Private account”.

• Now, tap “OK” from the pop-up menu to confirm your action and switch to a private account.

2. Remove Some User From Followers

What if the users you want to hide your followers or followings from are following you on Instagram?

Well, in such cases, switching to a private account is not enough as they will be able to see your followers and followings.

Moreover, blocking a user is an extreme action.

So, to hide your followers list from a follower without blocking them, you must unfollow them.

Follow the instructions to block someone. 

• Open your Instagram app.
• Visit the profile of the user you want to hide your followers from. 
• Tap the Ellipsis icon at the top right corner of the user’s profile page.

• Tap “Block” from the pop-up menu.
